In focus with Anders Pfeffer
Turning fleeting motions into solid art and using materials such as wood and granite, his creations highlight how craftsmanship can enhance nature's own perfection.


Q.What is your background?
I started dancing when I was seven and it took me on to Opera ballet schools around the world. I also have a long experience in outdoor tourism and wildlife trips on my own. Culture and nature.
Q.What is your ambition in life?
That me and the people around me have as good life as possible. Being open for it to new directions in life, staying open to change and giving support.

Have you seen the life long work of sculptor David Nash?


Q. Favorite item?
Right now our outdoor terrace hanging outside a cliff in the tree tops. More the experience and what it gives than been a bough item.
Q.Do you make any sustainable choices in your daily life?
Have only driven electric in the last five years. The forty solar panels on my roof produces more then enough to cover woodshop and transport in total during a year.Usually only one flight to Europe pr year and get most of my food from a local regenerative organic farmer. Try to buy less and better.
Q. If you could open a museum what would it be filled with?
Mid century hall of fame.


Q. What is on your bucket list?
Road trip in Europe with plenty of time. Mainly France, Italy. Food, art and wine with a good amount of training in between.
Q. Where would you take us to in Norway?
I just delivered several sculptures to a new amazing destination outside Rosendahl in Hardanger.

Q. Anything you are kind of snobby about?
Many things Im afraid. Or baby not snobby, being fascinated by great design and quality build anything is rather a enrichment to daily life. I can deeply value everyday objects that have the right esthetics.


Q. What kind of music do you listen to?
Classical music have always been a big part of my life with the deep love for ballet. But also rock from my youth with Smashing Pumpkins, Janes Addiction, Black Crows and the like. Jazz is now more and more the tunes to daily life.
Q. Nice to know but not need to know?
Stable economy and a loving family life gives freedom, peace of mind and room for creativity. I have hade one girlfriend since I was 17 and we are stil a force to be reckoned with 30 years on. She is a photographer and we have a shop in her studio in Oslo www.vaar.no that makes it possible for me to also work as an artist and designer.
